If you travel regularly – then looking into the Global Entry Program is definitely worth investigating.  The Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and border Protection (CBC) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States.

This program was intended for frequent international travelers, yet there is no minimum number of trips necessary to qualify for the program. When approved by the Global Entry program you will then be able to enter the United States with more ease by using automated Kiosks located at select airports.

Travelers must be pre-approved for this program. You can begin this process at the Global Entry Website. All applicants undergo a background check and interview before enrollment.

Once you are accepted you are able use Global Entry Kiosks by presenting your machine-readable passport or permanent U.S. resident card and placing your fingertips on the scanner for verification of your identity. You will then receive a transaction receipt at the kiosk which will direct you to baggage claim and the airport exit.

While this program was designed to help speed up the travel process, it does not guarantee further examination when entering the United States. If any violations of the program’s terms and conditions are made you will have to surrender your membership privileges.
