X is for an eXtra Special Giving during this Holiday Season

While you are rushing around looking for that perfect gift for everyone on your list, don’t forget to celebrate the true spirit of the holidays. This season take some time to spread good cheer to those that are less fortunate.  Now is a wonderful time to give back to your community and help those in need. It will also help you and your family create a deeper more meaningful connection to what giving during the holiday season truly means.   Whether it is the gift of time, goods or money any of these would greatly benefit those who need it most.

It is easy to get wrapped up in material gift giving, but oftentimes it can be the little acts of kindness that mean the most. This season incorporate a new tradition for you and your family one that may live on for generations to come; find a giving opportunity and spread some joy. Teaching your children to give back this holiday season can be the best gift you and they can give. Let them decide on the charity so they feel connected and involved in the process. This can become a holiday tradition that instills the value of caring for others, creates strong family ties – and is a way to have fun as a family.

Whatever you do decide to do this year, remember that a little bit of kindness can go a long way in making someone’s holiday a little brighter. Whether it is volunteering at a soup kitchen or at a children’s hospital, it could be your best gift of the season, for you and for someone else. Giving to your community is the gift that keeps on giving. So remember while you are struggling with long lines and expensive gifts – toys, electronics, and other unnecessary goods; remember to choose that eXtra giving that won’t be forgotten as soon as the next iPhone edition.

So, from Zuraw Financial Advisors to you, we wish you and your family health and happiness this holiday season.
